Katie's 2022 Must Have Gift Guide – CBS Sports Radio “DA Show”

It’s always a Christmas joy to join D.A. and the boys on CBS Sports Radio “The D.A. Show”. Our Christmas Gifting Segment never disappoints and in past few I have gifted the boys a meat cutting chainsaw, a VR headset a Darth Vader Clapper and a myriad of dozens of other gifts … so naturally the bar was high! J Segment and links to products showcased below.

I had this in my summer gadgets DA roundup and it stays hot on the list. I have been making my ice cream homemade since I got this gadget and can’t stop! Ice cream is one of my favorite food groups . With the NINJA CREAM, a 7-in-1 ice cream, sorbet and smoothie bowl maker, its wild to be making my favorite ice cream with only a few ingredients.  For a homemade classic vanilla, simply whip up a few ingredients (cream cheese, heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar and vanilla extract). Fold together and then place in freezer for 24 hours. Place the ice cream bowl (two pints included) in NINJA CREAMI, press the one touch with ice cream mode, and voila! If you’re like me you’re gonna want to add in toppings – which is less than a minute with another touch of the “Mix-In” button. To date my top homemade flavors are: Peppermint Stick, Vanilla with Peanut Butter Cup and Cookies and Cream. All organic ingredients and all DELICIOUS!

Video and photography enthusiasts -- this one’s for you! I have been shooting and editing for over 20 years. As you can imagine I have lots of gear and yet still want more - which can get expensive! Why not take advantage of buying or selling used gear? MPB.com is a no-brainer. I am so happy to be working with them and letting people know about their site. If you like photography or videography MPB.com is the place to buy or sell used cameras and lenses. The platform offers over 10k pieces of gear with an average of 33% savings compared to brand new. MPB buys gear directly from consumers and each product is carefully inspected by a specialist – and a full six-month warranty is provided.  Over 350k pieces of equipment are recirculated annually with over one thousand products added weekly.

I have year round lights that I can customize for each holiday. Twinkly is a bit of an investment but worth it. They come in an array of styles from your standard cord lights, to icicles, to panels that can be grouped together. The app lets you create thousands of color patterns or choose from pre-made designs. The lights are durable LED, shine bright and simply look fantastic!

This is in the must have office gift swap. Its conference call bingo! Various squares include “dog barking”, you’re on mute or two people same name. For under $13 it’s guaranteed a free laugh.

Wacky Desk Inflatables, $30

In honor of Pete “The Body” Belotti, who dressed as a wacky wobbler car lot inflatable this Halloween, I bring to you a great under $25 gift. Air inflatables shown are Tube the Tubemanand LookOurWay Mini Air Dancers.

Snack Magic (custom giftboxes -- you set the price!)

If you’re in a jam here is one of the best go-to gifts. I received a Snack Magic box from a client gift and then started using their service myself. (Check out my custom “Miss Mary Mack” box that I sent out!) Snack Magic takes the guesswork out of gifting. Simply choose an amount and email your recipient a link. The recipient can then choose from a thousands of snack items, ranging from gourmet cookies, to fancy seltzers, to on the flipside fun accessories and items. There is something for everyone and again key here is your recipient gets to pick! This is also agreat last minute gift because you can send the link to them on any day!

A great way to support a veteran owned business. I found this awesome company on the Insta and decided to try a few kinds of their cookies (Pop-Tart, C3PO, Fudge Mint Brownie, Kitchen Sink and some others). Their cookies are tasty, soft and delightful! Can’t go wrong sending these out this holiday. Their flavors go quick, but sign up for emails and they’ll tell ya when they restock!

Shout out to this Erie, PA based company. Runphones are no stranger to the tech world. The amazing Bluetooth headband will not only keep your ears warm on a winter day, but will also connect you to your favorite tunes while staying perfectly in place.

Linendoll family gatherings take board games very seriously. It’s every man for himself and that includes the kids too – haha. I have been thinking of a personalized game for years, and now I am using this template to level up our Christmas break. Our board includes family and friends as well as characters woven throughout our lives. A must for $10 bucks!

Winter runs can feel brutal during daylight savings time. One of my go-tos over the years to stay lit is NoxGear. They have a new visibility vest in a multitude of colors and in a flashing mode. The 3M reflective belts (sweat and chafe resistant elastic) also add visibility. The shape of the lights wraps fully around your body so you stay lit 360. Weighs only 6.5oz, carries up to 20 hours of battery life, waterproof and visible up to ¼ mile. Designed by engineer athletes, so you know you’ve got the good gear! The chest lamp is a forward bonus that’s also got 80 degrees of rotation and will light the roadway – good for the safety of both you and drivers!
