Katie Partners with Carrier for National Air Conditioning Day
Feeling hot hot hot?
Today is National Air Conditioning Day! And while it's no secret that there’s a lot of unique holidays to celebrate, this is one that I think we can all get behind. When we ponder our most practical technologies the most obvious ones come to mind like our smartphone, laptop and wifi, but can you really imagine how different things would be without AC?!
Well, let me get right to the point. A man named Willis Carrier invented modern air conditioning on this very day in 1902. Since then the powerhouse company with this namesake, "Carrier" has continued to construct air conditioning devices that are more efficient and affordable. As someone who is all about practical technologies that improve daily life, I am honored to partner with the Carrier team.
During this month I had the opportunity to conduct a media tour "Hottest Gadgets to Keep Cool." Obviously, Carrier was showcased first with the unit that they unveiled earlier this year at the Consumer Electronic Show. Their new 42 SEER is one “hot” commodity. First, if you are aware of the basic AC stats, you know that a typical home unit usually has a 14 SEER system while window units are typically 10 SEER. So, when I tell my friends that Carrier is 42 SEER they can’t believe it! Not only is the unit incredibly powerful, it is also crazy efficient and easily installed into nearly any space. It’s perfect for a room addition, garage conversion, man cave, etc. Another perk, it’ll connect seamlessly to a smart thermostat and provide best in class occupancy sensors to ensure low operating costs. It was a fun tour as you can see in the video below!
I would also be remiss not share the amazing philanthropic work that the Carrier team has been doing in Indiana with Habitat for Humanity. Carrier has been a very supportive partner with Habitat, donating hundreds of air conditioners. This year in the annual big build (which is in one select city) Carrier is outfitting over 25+ homes!
In select Carrier homes they are using a variety of methods such as ductless, geothermal and their infinity system to showcase the variety of options available to fit the needs of all kinds of home owners.
So, if you learn one thing today perhaps it’s this "cool" guy (pun intended) Willis Carrier invented a lil’ thing called modern AC!
