Road Trip Gadgets for D.A. Show – CBS Sports Radio

Katie Linendoll stops by the DA Show in New York to hook up “D.A.liens” with top road-trip gadgets along with her road trip tour of the northeast with Rain-X!

While stadiums aren’t open for business, road-trips certainly are a great option for a little enjoyment during fall weather. Here are some gadgets to stay safe and connected while on the road.

Rain-X Water Repellent Treatment

Growing up in the northeast and driving in extreme conditions all over the globe from Alaska to Iceland, I am no stranger to a good downpour (and quite honestly love a good rain shower).

However, nothing is worse than driving in challenging weather conditions and lacking good visibility. The Department of Transportation reports that 21% of motor accidents are related to the weather.

Keep your windshield clean with Rain-X. It comes in liquid, spray, or even wipes. Simply apply the Rain-X treatment and watch as the raindrops repel right off the windshield while driving. I was amazed to learn from Rain-X that in research conducted at a major university, showed it was able to improve the visibility up to a full second – which while driving at highway speeds is an estimated to provide an extra four car lengths of stopping distance!

Also, note I’m a big fan of their top-notch wiper blades, and heck you might as well get the one-two punch!

Use their Blade Finder online to find the right Rain-X wiper blades for your vehicle! (My personal favorite is the Silicon Endura for extreme all-weather performance!)

My Charge - Hub Series Chargers

I use this gadget daily and have purchased 10+ as gifts. Our phones are our most important gadgets and staying connected on the road isn’t just great for GPS, but also for emergencies.

There are many chargers on the market, but I especially like this one thanks to the built-in Android and iOS cables and wall charging prong.

There are a variety of MyCharge Hub chargers available, providing upwards of an extra 54 hours of battery life!

FindMy – built-in iPhone App

In my opinion, this is a very underutilized app. I use it to keep tabs on my family’s location without having to text or call them.

Custom Car Flags

Go ahead and show your pride! The custom car flags on Zazzle are inexpensive and can even be customized with your own design. Easy to use as the plastic clip allows it to attach to a car window in seconds.

The Hard Stop Crash Braking Light

I was shocked to learn a rear-end crash occurs every three seconds.

We’ve all had that moment when we brake and hope the driver behind us is paying attention. Now you can be sure to get their attention!

This motion sensor light adheres to your back window and monitors your braking over 100 times per second. In the event of a hard stop, it sends pulsing LED lights to get the attention of the driver behind you. No wires, no cables and a built-in battery that lasts up to four years.

And to answer the question that you’re probably asking – yes it’s legal everywhere.
