“Renaissance Lady”
“Renaissance Lady” was written very late one night when I decided it was a good time for an annual Google search of myself (NEVER a good idea, might I add). I stumbled upon one of those jenky celebrity sites that lists your age, net worth, personal status, and I geeked out.
“….this accomplished lady still seems behind in her personal life. Katie has crossed her thirties but is still single and unmarried. It appears that Katie is entirely focused on her work and considers her work a metaphorical husband.
As a single lady, she is often asked about the reason for her single relationship status. So, to clarify, she tweeted a post where she mentioned that she isn’t ready to get married to someone in the expense of half of every thing she owns.”
This was the moment when “Renaissance Lady” was born! I wrote it quickly. It just felt fun, light, and unapologetic.
I am adamant about tying each song to a non-profit close to my heart. A portion of all proceeds of “Renaissance Lady” proudly supports K9 Hurricane’s Heroes. a 100% volunteer based non-profit providing retired law enforcement and military dogs with subsidized veterinary care so they can live a long and healthy life post-service.
This song is for everyone, no matter your status. I hope it makes you smile, I hope you sing along; and for my fellow single renaissance ladies, I hope it makes you realize everything you’ve been looking for you had all along! ;)
